5 years ago, 2018/19 


Woolnough Shield 

East Sandy rolled Melbourne Hellenic for (64) Roey with career best figures for the club with 6/35 and his other partner in crime, Bajinder Singh with 4/28. East Sandy went on to make 148 and a young star in James Keys contributing 46. Hellenic performed better in their 2nd innings and declared on 5/175 however the push for victory worked out well for us as we made 6/93 in the 2nd innings, securing victory 6 wickets down.


I Grade 

East Sandy made 7/268 and had a comfortable win over Clayton District (66) Mighty Mick Edwards opened and made 50* - Bucky and Barney enjoyed teeing off at Sandy College (East Oval) the innings would’ve been a bit shorter, however both teams spent plenty of time looking for lost balls! Super Pook and Greatorex went on to take 3 wickets each and 11 maidens in between the duo.


U12C (Sunday)

East Sandy 8/112 defeated Cluden 8/91 - Chris Sinclair was coach whilst Liam Haddrick top scored with 43 runs and the son of the coach, Owen took 3/4.


10 years ago, 2013/14


Longmuir Shield

East Sandy went on to make 6/290 and won against Kingston Heath (261) by 29 runs - main contributors of the match were Cracker and Hammo - 2 experienced and classy bats who went on to make (107 & 101). Jayme Saleem ended up with 4/60 which helped get us over the line against the “burras”.


U16A

East Sandy 8/221 defeated Kingston Heath convincingly by 87 runs. Strahaney coached whilst we had a few performers in the names of Chris Diggle making a lazy 51*, the skipper Nick Knight opened with Patty Inglis (40) and recent Collingwood Premiership player Nathan Murphy made a solid 62*.


U14A

East Sandy 9/151 defeated St Brigid’s/St Louis comfortably by 61 runs. There are a fair few names in the team that had relatively even performances such as current Gold Coast star Ben King including his twin brother Max King who plays for St Kilda, our current 1’s captain Ben Pryor, Adam Pitt, Connor Murphy & Hamish McCartney.


15 years ago, 2008/09


Woolnough Shield

East Sandy made 8/284 and got Hampton United all out for (265) with Walley, Bails, Nicky Singh, and Dewy all making half-centuries in the top 4. Patty Singh and Scotty Campbell took 3 wickets each which guided us to victory winning by 19 runs.


H Grade

East Sandy 9/277 went on to win by a huge margin against Cluden by 136 runs. The extras Cluden bowled was the highest score for our innings! Gatty made his highest score in his career making 63 batting at 10 in the order! Fletch opened and made 40 including a young Matty McIntyre making 36*. The only standout in the bowling innings was Sniffa taking career-best figures for the club 5/37.


U14B

East Sandy 9/171 drew with Beaumaris 9/171 our social media specialist Smacka top scored making 43 with Finn Mackay taking 3/12.20 years ago, 2003/04Longmuir ShieldEast Sandy went on to bowl Hampton Central all out for (157) with Dallas taking a lazy 5/51 and making 28* a pretty good 2 days in the office for Lukie including Corpy making 42 then Dudds made a sensible 87* which helped guide us to victory and were well supported in fellow teammates in the names of Biggy, captain Kim, Cracker, Cheeks, Cully, and Smithy. 


Woolnough Shield

East Sandy had another comfortable win against Hampton Central who were all out for (155) with the current president Scotty taking 3/21. Bails opens as he always does and made a solid 56 including Bluey guiding East Sandy to the victory making 50 and were well supported by fellow teammates in the names of the Skipper in Dewy, Barney, Rossy, Pearcey, R Devereaux (not Robbie!) & Deano.


Quiney Shield

East Sandy (304) defeated Omega by 160 runs. Rocky went on to make a blistering 116 hitting a few huge 6s that went missing half of the time! Including Jeremy Maguire who made 62. Captain Kingy opened the bowling and took a magnificent 6/54.


25 years ago, 1998/99


Quiney Shield

Moorabbin West got rolled badly for 36 (with Darren Hiddlestone & Gav Devereaux taking 5 wickets each) in return we went on to make 243 with Lukie Dallas making 65 and Captain Cudds opening making 56. We sent Moorabbin West back in so we could get an outright victory. Hiddlestone went on to take another 4 wickets which was 9 in total for the match! Sterel and Murley took 3 wickets each which ended up guiding East Sandy to an outright victory.
